Ranks & Gradings

The coloured belt system is one of the special features of a dojo. Walk into most karate dojos in the world and you'll see a mixture of grades. Here are the belt colours we use within Renshinkan Shukokai.

Grading examinations are held three times a year and give students a chance to progress to the next belt level.

Ho grades (half grades) are allowable for junior members only .
How they work - ho grades are allowed for any of the Kyu grades from beginner up to 4th kyu and are designed to allow junior students to progress in easier stages. Ho grades are denoted by white belts with a coloured stripe. e.g  6th kyu-ho is white belt with green stripe.
